Just a little note. Memoirs of a Geisha...looks interesting, but why is the character of the Japanese geisha played by Zhang Ziyi, a Chinese? Thoughts?

It's because Japan lacks talent in its entertainment industry. This is what I gather from various articles anyway.
yeah, same.
zhang ziyi is a good actress and pleasant to the eye. at least little chiyo is played by a japanese person, as with the chairman.
can't wait to watch it!
